# Connect your AI tool

UGC Chart runs a remote MCP server. MCP is the standard way AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT connect to outside data. Add one link, sign in once, then just ask.

```
https://ugcchart.com/mcp
```

You need a work email. Sign up free while you connect. Personal emails like Gmail won't work.

## Claude (claude.ai and the Claude app)

1. Go to claude.ai. Open **Settings**, then **Connectors**.
2. Click **Add custom connector**.
3. Name it UGC Chart. Paste the link above.
4. Click **Add**, then **Connect**.
5. Sign in with your work email. Then click **Allow**.

## ChatGPT

Use ChatGPT on the web.

1. Go to [chatgpt.com/plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins).
2. Click the **+** button, then **Add custom MCP server**.
3. Name it UGC Chart. Under **Connection**, paste `https://ugcchart.com/mcp` as the **Server URL**.
4. For authentication, pick **OAuth**.
5. Read the warning and tick **I understand and want to continue**.
6. Click **Create as a plugin**, then **Connect**.
7. Sign in with your work email. Then click **Allow**.

To use it, type **@UGC Chart** in the chat box, then ask your question.

Using ChatGPT at work? Your admin may need to allow custom MCP servers first. We have also applied to ChatGPT's app directory. Once we are approved, you will be able to add UGC Chart from there too.

## Grok

1. Go to [grok.com/connectors](https://grok.com/connectors).
2. Click **New Connector**, then **Custom**.
3. Name it UGC Chart. Paste `https://ugcchart.com/mcp` as the **Server URL**.
4. Click **Add Connector**. A sign-in window opens.
5. Sign in with your work email. Then click **Allow**.

UGC Chart now shows under **Connected**. Just ask about Trybe creators in a chat. To be sure Grok uses it, start with "Using the UGC Chart connector...".

Using Grok Business or Enterprise? Your admin must add the connector first.

## Claude Code

Sign in and make a key on [your account page](https://ugcchart.com/account). Then run this in your terminal. Swap `ugc_...` for your key.

```
claude mcp add --transport http ugc-chart https://ugcchart.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer ugc_..."
```

## Cursor and other MCP clients

Most clients that support remote MCP servers can connect with the link alone. They open a sign-in page the first time.

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ugc-chart": { "url": "https://ugcchart.com/mcp" }
  }
}
```

If your client can't open a sign-in page, use an API key instead. Make one on [your account page](https://ugcchart.com/account) and send it as a header:

```
Authorization: Bearer ugc_...
```

## For developers: how sign-in works

- **Transport**: Streamable HTTP. The server is stateless. It answers `POST /mcp` with plain JSON.
- **Auth**: every request needs `Authorization: Bearer <token>`. Without it, `/mcp` answers `401` with a `WWW-Authenticate` header that points to our resource metadata.
- **OAuth 2.1** with PKCE (S256 only) and dynamic client registration:
  - Resource metadata: `https://ugcchart.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp`
  - Server metadata: `https://ugcchart.com/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server`
  - Register: `POST https://ugcchart.com/oauth/register`
  - Authorize: `https://ugcchart.com/oauth/authorize`
  - Token: `POST https://ugcchart.com/oauth/token`
- Redirect links must be `https`, or `http` on localhost.
- Access tokens last 1 hour. Refresh tokens last 30 days and work once each.
- A token from sign-in can only read UGC Chart data. It can't see your email or your lists, and it can't change anything.
- Server card: `https://ugcchart.com/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json`
- Official MCP Registry name: `com.ugcchart/ugc-chart`

## Turn it off

Go to [your account page](https://ugcchart.com/account). Each connected tool shows up in your keys list. Click **Turn off** to stop it.
