# Tools

The UGC Chart MCP server has 7 tools. They all only read data. Your AI tool picks the right one for your question, so you don't need to name them.

Every answer that works has a short summary and the data as JSON. The JSON always includes:

- `edition_id`: the week, like `2026-W44`.
- `data_date`: the date the numbers are from.
- `source`: where the numbers come from.

A good place to start is `list_categories` or `search_creators`. Then use `get_creator` for one person.

## search_creators

Find Trybe creators. Filter by category, country, 30-day sales range, growth, approval rate and badges. Returns up to 50 creators per page.

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| `niche` | Category, like "Skincare" or "Pets". See `list_categories`. Creators on Trybe's sales list for that category come first. |
| `country` | 2-letter country code, like "US". |
| `min_band` | Lowest 30-day sales range: `10k+`, `20k+`, `30k+`, `40k+`, `50k+`, `100k+`, `150k+`, `200k+`, `250k+` or `300k+`. |
| `growing_only` | Only creators whose sales are growing this week. |
| `min_approval` | Lowest approval rate, 0 to 100. |
| `min_weeks_growing` | Lowest number of weeks in a row growing. |
| `badges` | Must have all of these: `steady`, `breakout`, `few_videos_big_sales`. |
| `sort` | `growing` (default), `top_sales`, `most_videos`, `approval`, `weeks_growing` or `chart_rank`. |
| `limit` | How many, 1 to 50. Default 20. |
| `offset` | Skip this many, for the next page. |

Returns `total`, `next_offset` and the creators.

## get_creator

Everything UGC Chart knows about one creator: 8 weeks of sales ranges, badges, rank in their top category, approval rate, sample delivery and TikTok and Instagram handles.

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| `slug` | Creator slug, like `elijah-l-28893697` (from `search_creators`). |
| `creator_id` | Creator id. Use this or `slug`. |

The answer splits what Trybe also shows from facts only UGC Chart has. If we don't have some data yet, the answer says so instead of guessing.

## get_chart

The weekly Top 50, ranked by sales, with chart marks: NEW, RE (back on the chart), UP, DOWN, GREATEST_GAINER and HOT_SHOT_DEBUT.

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| `edition_id` | Week, like `2026-W44`. Leave it out for the latest week. |

## compare_creators

Compare up to 4 creators side by side: sales range, 8-week history, videos in 30 days, approval rate, sample delivery and badges.

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| `ids` | 1 to 4 slugs or creator ids. |

Returns the creators and a `not_found` list.

## similar_creators

Creators like this one: same top category and sales range, closest number of videos. Good for finding backups.

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| `slug` or `creator_id` | The creator to match. |
| `limit` | How many, 1 to 12. Default 6. |

## list_categories

Every category with how many creators are in it and how many are growing this week. No options.

## get_movers

Who is moving this week: breakouts, steady sellers, the biggest sales range jumps, and who has grown the most weeks in a row.

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| `edition_id` | Week, like `2026-W44`. Leave it out for the latest week. |
| `limit` | How many per list, 1 to 25. Default 10. |

## Errors

When something goes wrong, like a creator we can't find, the tool answers with a plain message your AI tool can show you. When you run out of lookups for the day, the answer says how to get more. See [Limits and privacy](https://ugcchart.com/docs/limits).
